Tullow Oil Plc recorded a 137% jump in its profit for last year after seeing an increase in revenues from higher oil and gas prices partially offset by lower sales volumes. The oil exploration and production firm's profit moved up from US$31 million in 2009 to US$73 million at the end of 2010.

Tullow Oil, involved in the production of crude oil in Ghana's Jubilee Field expects its fortunes to improve as it makes more discoveries in the country. The group plans to list on the Ghana Stock Exchange by the second quarter of this year.
