Modern African Productions (MAP), a subsidiary of Modern Times Group (MTG AB), and Talpa Media, the media company of Dutch entrepreneur John de Mol, have entered into an exclusive cooperation for Sub Saharan Africa, excluding Angola and South Africa.

Through the agreement the Ghana based production company obtains the exclusive right to co-produce with Talpa all its international formats across multiple TV genres - including reality, game show and scripted - for the TV market in a number of African countries. MAP is a young company operating from Ghana’s capital, Accra.

The company focuses on entertainment with a strong interactive component. MAP oversees the complete production chain, from paper format to (mobile) studio hardware.

MAP is planning to roll out its activities by offering a wide range of local productions to both English speaking countries like Nigeria and Tanzania and the French speaking region with countries like Senegal and Congo.  Talpa Media’s catalogue encompasses several formats that could do very well in many African countries. Just to name a few: ‘The Voice Of...’, ‘I Love My Country’, ‘Battle of The Choirs’ and ‘Sing It’.

In the past year Talpa Media set up co-operation deals with other local partners active in the TV markets of France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the US, Australia, New Zealand, North Africa and the Middle East, Scandinavia and Finland.
